ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION:
Cherub improv is a Manhattan-based non-profit organization whose mission is to bring laughter to those most in need. Over the past 4.5 years, over 100 volunteer performers ("Cherubs") have provided over 400 free improv comedy events performances and workshops to over forty venues in NYC, NJ, Westchester, Long Island, and PA, including cancer support organizations, hospitals, nursing homes, veterans centers, children's organizations, senior centers, hospices, homeless shelters, and AIDS residences. Cherub improv is a 501(c) and donations are tax deductible.

ABOUT THE POSITIVE EFFECT OF CHERUB IMPROV:
Improv comedy is known to help people develop their confidence, their listening skills, their public speaking skills, and their imagination and creativity. It is often used by corporations to help with the foregoing as well as for team building. It strengthens the mind, it is fun, and it makes you laugh. And sometimes it makes you cry -- but only happy tears.

Like the time we learned from the VA hospital social worker that a combat veteran, who performed with us during one of our monthly visits, was previously non-communicative for years and only came out of his shell as a result of our workshop. Or when we read the unsolicited testimonial from a woman living with cancer who, despite horrible nauseau, pain, chills, and a migraine, was dragged by her husband to one of our shows at Hope Lodge, stating that "[d]espite my reluctance to leave the bed, once I got to the performance, I laughed so hard that it physically hurt, in a good way. I was howling laughing and I could not believe that this perfect cure to my woes was brought right to me . . . ."

Please know that your support will help us continue to make a difference and soar to new heights.
